Namma Nilgris Bamboo Rice is collected from the Nilgiris Biosphere Reserves by the indigenous tribal community. Bamboo rice is the seed of a dying bamboo shoot produced at the end of its life span. It is considered to be more nutritious and healthy than regular rice. It is rich in various nutrients, including carbohydrates, fibre and protein. It has low to no fat content and is rich in vitamin B.
